Obituary of Theresa Brooks
Theresa Marie (Henry) Brooks, 63, of Uniontown passed away peacefully on November 3, 2019, after a courageous two-and-a half-year battle with an aggressive form of endometrial cancer.
Theresa was born November 13, 1955, in Uniontown to the late Johnson W. and Julia M. (Lacerenza) Henry. She was a 1974 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School and a 30-year employee of the Uniontown Hospital, retiring in 2015.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 28 years, Ronnie Brooks, and her dear brother, Michael W. Henry.
Left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory are her two sons; Vincent “Teddy” Brooks and wife Kelly of Richmond, Virginia, and Todd Brooks and wife Marissa of Hopwood; her grandchildren Julia, Theo, Eleanor, and Mia; her sister-in-law Shirley Henry; several very special nieces and great-nephews; and a host of extended family and life-long friends.
Theresa loved to make people happy (often with food), sing incorrect song lyrics out of tune, laugh, and have fun, but her life’s work was helping others. Whether it was running errands for elderly former coworkers; caring for her mother and numerous family members in old age; or painting, scrubbing, washing, and ironing in anticipation of a new grandchild, Theresa could be counted on to help in any and every way. By her own admission, she “loved to fold baby clothes!” Her grandchildren and great-nephews will sorely miss their “Granny T,” but they will never forget the loving woman that gave so much of herself for the benefit of others.
Friends will be received in the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME 136 N. Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM and on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 9:15 AM at which time prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
Parish wake service will be held in the funeral
Home Friday at 3:00PM.
The family would like to thank Donnell House-Concordia Hospice of Washington staff and the UPMC Shadyside cardio-thoracic ward doctors, nurses, and aides for their kind and compassionate care.
